Description
Appellation: Barbaresco DOCG
Grape variety: Nebbiolo
Production zone: Neive
Standing out in the nose delicate aromas of fruits of the forest, balsamic and menthol notes which we also find on the palate wrapped in thick tannins. The finish is typically tasty and young.
Vinification: Meticulous selection of the grapes is followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. After maceration on skins and also a period of submerged cap, the wine is racked into wood where malolactic fermentation is completed. In order to reach its full expressive potential, this wine rests in the bottle for about one more year.
AWARDS
“Complex aromas of dried flowers with red fruit and orange peel. Some white truffle, too,as well as hazelnut. Medium-bodied with a solid core of slightly chewy tannins and a flavorful yet focused finish. Try this after 2025.”James Suckling 93/100 (Vintage 2019)
Drinking Window 2026 – 2045. The 2020 Barbaresco Fausoni is one of the most captivating wines I have ever tasted here. Bright, focused and vertical in bearing, the 2020 possesses tremendous intensity in all of its dimensions. Macerated red cherry, mint, white. Vinous 97/100 (Vintage 2020)
Dry and earthy with a reserved character. Notes of walnut, bark and red cherries in the background. Medium body. It’s linear and lengthy with firm and chalky tannins and a lightly chewy finish. Drink after 2025. James Suckling 94/100. (Vintage 2020)
