The exquisite and exotic Lacrima di Morro d’Alba from Velenosi provides a resounding example of why native Italian grapes are so delicious. Vibrant aromas that are equally floral and fruit-laden intertwine with each sniff of this wine. Ripe blackberry notes mingle with violets, candied cherries with roses and on and on. The palate is soft and easy. On the finish, a pleasant herbal and woodsy bitter note keeps the fruit in check. Yum!

Harvest Generally mid-September. Picked and placed in small cases. The grapes are then taken to the winery where they are vinified after an additional careful selection

Taste: Intense ruby red with violet hues. Elegant scents of cherry, violet, geranium, rose and cut grass. Full-bodied, lingering and dry mouthfeel with a harmonious, well-balanced tannic structure. The total recall of the bouquet makes it immediately pleasant and enjoyable.

Historical facts: Lacrima di Morro d’Alba (also known as Lacrima), was given DOC designation in 1985; one of
Marche’s most renowned wines, Lacrima boasts a long history. Legend has it that in 1167 Frederick Barbarossa, after taking over the Castle of Morro d’Alba following the siege of Ancona, became one of the staunchest supporters of this “excellent drink”.
