Casa Setaro is located in Trecase, in the province of Naples, in the Vesuvius National Park, since 1995 it has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
The vines are trained using the ancient pergola vesuviana method and grow in a lava soil rich in potassium and microelements composed of lapillus and sand. This has allowed the vines to remain ungrafted.
Grapes: 100% Piedirosso, guyot, ungrafted vine
Production area: 300 slm Tirone della Guardia, National Park of Vesuvius
Vinification: manual selection of the grapes, destemming and cryomaceration for up to 48 hours, fermentation at controlled temperature for about 12 days
Aging: matured 12 months in amphora and large French oak barrelsand other 2 months in bottle
Tasting notes: intense ruby red color with purple shades, floral and fruity with scents of geraniums, presents delicious hints of red fruits and undergrowth, with tobacco, species and volcanic notes. Voluptuous mouthful, round and balanced, with velvety tannins and a great lasting finish
Alcohol: 13% Vol.
