JeT stands for Jacopo e Tancredi Biondi Santi.
This is the family that started the historic estate “Il Greppo” in Montalcino and that was later sold. Since 1991, Jacopo had another project in mind. Jacopo wanted to produce wines that better meet the needs of the market, without coming into conflict with the image of Brunello di Montalcino, in which his name is so closely associated.
In 1997 he bought the Castello di Montepo’. A beautiful estate in the heart of Maremma (Toscana), located in a 600 hectare nature reserve, the winery Castello Montepó, named after the castle of the same name from the 12th century. At the same time, 50 hectares of purely organic vines were planted and cultivated at an altitude between 300/460 metres above sea level and a south-southwest exposure. Made from bunches of Sangiovese Grosso BBS11 (the same strain that gives life to the famous Brunello) clone of which they hold exclusive rights.
