Pruning in short sleeves
I had hoped to be able to show you a few pretty photos of Langa under a blanket of snow, but so far it’s a no-go. Christmas 2013 and the beginning of 2014 have seemed to me more like the start of spring. The weather is quite pleasant, but I do not like it. The vines need to sleep, and the cold would help them. The mountains are covered in snow, but the Langa hills are not. It would not surprise me if the low temperatures and snow were to arrive this year at the end of February or beginning of March.
In the meantime, we have started to prune. This is always a complex activity, especially this year, since we have old plants as well as very Young ones, thus requiring two ways of making the cuts and interpreting the vines. As always, Dragi’s expert hands are taking care of it.
