Description
PavoNero Appassimento Puglia IGT 2023
Area: Puglia/ Apulia
Grapes: 50% Primitivo/ 50% Negroamaro
Appelation: Puglia IGT
Alc. 14%
This wine hails from the stunning Apulia region in southern Italy, crafted primarily from 50% Negroamaro grapes and 50% being Primitivo. The grapes are harvested between late September and early October, allowing them to naturally dry on the vine and concentrate their flavors. This drying process yields less juice but enhances its richness and aromatic depth. Every grape is hand-selected before vinification, and the wine then matures for 12 months in cement tanks prior to bottling.
In the glass, it shows a deep red hue with alluring aromas of dark berries, cherry, a hint of strawberry, and subtle notes of spice, raisin, and vanilla.
The palate is intense, brimming with lush fruit, yet balanced and smooth. Full-bodied with ripe tannins, it offers a lingering finish filled with intriguing nuances—an elegantly crafted Appassimento.
Serve at 17-18°C. Enjoy with barbecued meats, braised dishes, beef, or a selection of cheeses. It also makes a delightful sipper on its own.
